This collection consists of documents related to the production of KLVX's Steamboats on the Colorado documentary between 1974 and 1976. Comprised of correspondence, promotional materials, scripts, a treatment, a grant application, and other materials, the collection showcases the energies put into the creation of the film by the producer and writer. Additionally, the collection showcases the way in which twentieth century Americans viewed the history of the West--as a triumphalist narrative in which rugged individuals utilized ingenuity and hard work to craft solutions to problems such as transportation in the desert Southwest.
